Job Description:
The Kitchen, one of New York's most important nonprofit arts organizations, is seeking a full-time Development and Marketing Assistant to start immediately.
The Development and Marketing Assistant works directly with the Executive Director and Associate Director to develop and sustain The Kitchen's patron programs and special events, including the Fall Art Auction and Spring Gala Benefit, and also works with marketing staff to develop The Kitchen's public presence and audience. Additional duties include receptionist and office management tasks.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing and tracking of incoming donations using Raiser's Edge database; maintaining proper donor files; assisting in coordination of special events; liaise with house photographer to archive and distribute performance/exhibition photos; serving as in-house liaison for press consultants; coordinating brochure and postcard production and distribution; coordinating press release distribution; producing event flyers for lobby display; archiving press clippings and maintaining master press files, in addition to managing social media.
The assistant also manages The Kitchen's internship program and serves as receptionist/office manager. Responsibilities include: processing incoming mail; answering and directing phone calls; managing general office duties; and providing general administrative assistance with other activities as needed.
