How do I make my resume stand out from the rest? (4EntertainmentJobs.com)

I have seen a lot of resumes in the past 10 years especially the ones from job seekers applying for positions listed on 4EntertainmentJobs.com. Now more than ever, it’s extremely important to be very specific about the type of position you are looking for. It helps us identify companies that may be a great fit for both you and them. In addition, based on your skill set, you may not be a perfect fit for the position you are applying for. But, by providing a career objective about who you are and what you are looking for, it will help us identify perhaps a better match.
You need to be very specific about what sort of company you would want to work for and what type of position you would want to work in. Take a look at your life experiences and career experiences and think about how they would benefit a potential employer. Do some research about the entertainment industry to determine which companies you would be motivated to work for. Then do further research on the employees of the company on LinkedIn to see how those people describe their current job.
Once you have a clear career objective, organize your experiences. Make sure you are not just listing past jobs but also past experiences with those jobs that will make your resume unique. If you are seeking a job in the Music Industry, perhaps including that you once were part of a band will help the employer understand you are passionate about Music. List your skills and interests that would best relate to the position you are seeking. By fitting your resume to the specific job you are applying for you will stand out. A resume that is more specific will generally get you more interest from employers than a generic one. People want to hire people who are passionate about the position they are seeking. Your objective is to get them to call you for an interview.
